So many carnivals, where do you go? Which ones do you choose? It’s feels like the carnival season is nearly over when the Barbados Cropover is in full swing, Grenada Spice Mas is enroute and St Lucia is nothing but a past memory.
The Ibiza Soca Festival 2019 has also come and gone, but don’t worry, this soca festival is so popular that it happens every year, so start planning early for 2020. I attended the Ibiza Soca Festival 2018 and it was lit! If you missed all of the sun, sea, and Soca of Ibiza’s Soca Festival earlier this month, you missed one of Spain’s most extravagant soca festivals. But, as we all know, this isn’t the only can’t-miss soca festival of the year and there are still many more upcoming soca and fete carnivals and festivals yet to come.
Well, if you are still carnival hungry and looking for a soca festival to attend, keep reading as The Real Soca Deal shares some upcoming soca carnivals and festivals you can still make it to this year:
The Notting Hill Carnival from 24 – 26 August 2019, the streets of London become one large Caribbean party. The Notting Hill Carnival is Europe’s largest street festival and features a colourful parade over the summer bank holiday weekend.
Daytona Beach Carnival the carnival on a beach! Held over the Labor Day weekend 30 – 2 September. With events that include a Dutty Jouvert, Insomnia, all White Parties and of course the costume parade.
Swiss Soca Festival: from the 6 – 8 September, the Swiss Soca Festival brings you one of the hottest soca parties of the year! With top DJ’s, live performances by the some of the industry’s top talent and more, this year’s Swiss Soca Festival promises to be the best one ever! I personally attended the Swiss Soca Festival Warmup in May and the Swiss Soca Festival 2018 in September and can tell you that this is one festival not to miss!
Soca in Japan! With four days of fun-filled soca events, Japan Soca Weekend 2019 promises to be one of the Pacific’s best soca events of the year. Scheduled for 13 – 16 September, you still have time to plan on attending.
November’s Ubersoca Cruise 2019 brings the Soca celebration to the sea. From 4 – 8 November, this 5 day, 4-night cruise experience is the largest soca festival at sea! With fun-filled soca excitement, soca DJ’s, live performances, a beach J’ouvert and a Wakanda-style ball, the Ubersoca Cruise is the perfect event to cap off the year soca style!
Of course, there is still an abundance of carnivals that up are upcoming in the USA, UK and towards the end of the year, as we head towards Christmas.
