SOME LINKS ARE BROKEN OR OUT OF DATE.

Windy City West Indian Carnival is a festival and colorful parade that takes place on the third Saturday of August and has attracted tens of thousands of spectators and vendors from all over the world. It is a family-oriented cultural event with live entertainment, children’s activities, and authentic Caribbean cuisine. A popular Street Parade of Bands showcases colorful handmade costumes, authentic steel pan music and traditional dance performances. Help us keep the culture alive by patronizing or partnering at any or all of our events.

The food, art, music and histories of the diverse peoples of the West Indies and Caribbean are showcased during the Windy City Carnival season of events. This is where Carnival lovers come to experience Chicago’s version of this hemispheric phenomenon. With roots dating back to the 1990s, Carnival in Chicago was resurrected by husband and wife duo, Kirvan and Lystra Audain. Windy City Carnival is a rich multievent movement uniting individuals from every walk of life.
